Icecast Streaming Media Server

I'm new to Icecast2 but after several days of fooling around I've got it up and running. However when I listen to the stream with Windoze Media Player (caption & subtitles on) the stream plays fine but there is no Artist or Title info being sent. My source client is the Sam plugin from Spacial Audio. On the Converter screen "allow scripts in stream" is checked, also "automatic data streaming" is checked". The script "artist=#artist#&title ... blah blah" is listed in the box below automatic data streaming. On the Server Details TAB I have "Enable title streaming" checked. If I connect to Icecast2 with a browser, I can see title and artist info listed at the bottom of the screen. So it's getting to the server but it's just not making it out to the client I'm using to listen with.

Do I have to enable something special in "icecast.xml" in order to pass Artist and Title info to the listener.

to see if you are able to decode the Artist and Title information!

your icecast is fine, the player needs to request the metadata inserts or else icecast won't provide them, doing so without being requested will cause playback problems. Try another player.

Thanks for your help! The stream plays fine with Artist and Title info in Winamp. Guess it's time to give Windoze Media Player the boot.
