I am looking to build a Flash Media player that embeds an IceCast stream. I have some knowledge of Flash, but frankly have no idea how I can do the following :
Build a Flash Player that displays all metadata associated with the stream(name of current song, artist name, genre etc)
Display song history from the stream(last 5 songs played)
Ideally, have the player work with a AACplus encoded stream. I am made to understand that this could be a potential hurdle in Flash
I also understand that Flash tends to have memory leak issues with radio streams that cause a player to crash. The player should address this issue.
So anyone have any resources, tutorials on how to go about doing this?
If necessary I am willing to pay for any training, code you may provide.
Thanks,

This should get you started:
At least in the latest trunk of icecast there's a document pointing to this website. The flashplayer they offer is very customizable and free for personal use. |

| Thanks jorgosch for the reply. I will take a look at the JW Player. From your experience, is it possible to extract metadata like CD cover from an AAC encoded stream from Icecast? |
