Hi.
Yesterday I installed an icecast server that uses darkice to stream an audio signal captured from the audio input. The sound card is an internal SiS SI7012 card.
Darkice is currently running at 22.05 kHz and it works fine, however I want to increase the sample rate to at 44.1 kHz.
But this sample rate doesn't seem to work for the card. Darkice outputs a series of "buffer overrun" errors.
When you look at the darkice src, it is thrown by AlsaDspSource.cpp whenever the ALSA library function snd_pcm_readi returns the EPIPE flag, which I guess is signaling the end of the pipe.
Could it really be that the soundcard cannot stream 44 kHz? Or is it something else?
Do you know a good support forum for ALSA?
Thanks
