Hi,
My name is Michal Svoboda. I develope StreamMaster (in c++ ) - streams OGG audio to IceCast server.
StreamMaster streams OGG in VBR and I have a big problem to stream silence. Audiodata drops off in my internal buffer.
Also, is it possible to somehow set it so that there is no buffer or a minimal only buffer of the source so that there is the least possible lag between the source and the output?
I see that OddcastV3 doesn't have this problem. Oddcast streams with 0Kbps.
Can you help me please?
thanks for your help
Michal Svoboda

source to listener lag is there mainly because of the buffering between icecast and the player. The player prebuffers a certain amount and icecast uses burst-size, set both of those the the lowest setting suitable for your setup.
Vorbis compresses digital silence extremely well so even a small buffer can contain a lot of silence, you may need to set a min bitrate
