|
|
Hi.
I'm having some troubles with mount-specific admin login.
The relevant mount section on my icecast.xml is
Code: |
<mount>
<mount-name>/myradio</mount-name>
<password>mypassword</password>
<admin-user>myuser</admin-user>
<admin-password>mypassword</admin-password>
<max-listeners>100</max-listeners>
</mount>
|
Starting the stream works perfectly fine with those settings, but whenever I try to call one of the admin functions for the stream, like
Code: |
../admin/listclients?mount=/myradio |
,I cannot login with the admin-user/admin-password specified above and the error.log shows
Code: |
Bad or missing password |
.
However logging in with the server-specific admin-user/admin-password (the ones defined in the <icecast>...<authentication>-tag) works flawlessly.
Any ideas?
Thx in advance |

I thought someone may of jumped in here, oh well. The admin login is server wide. The per-mount auth is source/pw based so <username> <password> are the settings you want.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for asking such trivial questions.
Actually simply trying <username> and <password> was my first guess, but as I could not connect to edcast when a username was specified I thought there'd be another way.
This posting teached me better:
http://icecast.imux.net/viewtopic.php?p=15135&sid=dc222177ccf3df4ae15d97812b4c0784
Edit: damn! still won't work.
With username set to 'source' (for compatibility) I can connect to icecast using edcast, but I can't authenticate the admin functions again!
Besides I'm not really happy with having to set the username to 'source' for compatibility because that way I can only specify one mount point. However I can understand that there's nothing to solve that problem because it's source-client related. |

ah yes, on 2.3.2, for admin functions you'll need the admin/pw to run them

Umm.. Mount-specific admin functions would be nice for SAM Broadcaster statistics (to see on listener count on same broadcasting program, and not switching into web browser and refresh Icecast page).
Somebody asked me how he can use SAM Broadcaster statistics, I told it would need admin-functions that are serverwide, so it won't work unless server admin gives them...
I don't see any other usage for this, but many broadcasters would be happy |
