Howdy,
I am having an issue that I am trying to solve. I don't think this is Icecast related per say. First and foremost I must say that I am not a programmer. I am trying to find out why when I stream OGG with edcast and if I send the metadata, every time the metadata updates there seems to be a hiccup in the stream. However when I disable metadata the stream works fine. If the problem is the metadat from edcast. Does anybody have a PHP script that will send the metadata from a txt file. Or will this even solve the issue?
Kindest Regards,
Thomas |

when I've heard of this previously, the problem was down to the player stopping playback not icecast. Which player are you using.

Thanks Karl, I have tried VLC. I kinda figured it was not Icecast. Just wondering if Edcast was to blame. I will try Winamp
Kindest Regards,
Thomas

I think some versions (probably early) of vlc may of had problems with ogg chaining (the metadata insert), winamp should be ok, realplayer/helix should be ok as well. I don't know about wmp and qt with their ogg plugiins but I've not heard of any issues there.
