Hi,

Does anyone know of a way of denying a source, instead of just killing it?

The reason I ask is that we need to kick off some DJs that connect to my icecast and clicking "Kill Source" doesn't ensure they cannot come back and reconnect.

As they are using SimpleCast, they often select the option to "Auto reconnect encoder after:" and set the time to 15 seconds.

This auto reconnect feature allows them to just keep coming back and with no manual clicking, it's just done by SimpleCast and often, the DJs do not even realise that they are being kicked off and automatically reconnected by SimpleCast.

If anyone has any ideas, please could you let me know.

Thanks,

Richard.

Being more selective on allowing certain clients is more involved. The only 2.3.2 ways were to change the password to deny the access or possibly block the IP. In the trunk and kh build, you do have a stream_auth url option to offload that authentication to a say a php script which can be more selective.
