|

Hi There,
Wonder if you could help me....
We've been having small issues with people overloading our system, they have been opening our stream in several hundred VLC or windows media players, causing our listeners to go to like 7000+.. we usuall have around 500+ listeners, this causes our system to overload as we're currently on a limited inet connection until expansion is required.
Is there a way in the confirm to limit the connections per IP? |

You could keep track of the IP addresses of your listeners in a database via the use of listener_add and listener_remove (http://www.icecast.org/docs/icecast-2.3.2/icecast2_listenerauth.html)
Then simply refuse connection if someone already has a connection open.
Might be an easier way, though. |

For one thing, you can set max-listeners to prevent excessive numbers of connections. You could ban the IP if there seems to be too many from it
