They were talking about it on the #icecast IRC yesterday, and a guy's started working on it now. Shouldn't be too long hopefully. |

This seems to have been waiting for 5 months.
Is there any update on the Windows installer? |

Hi, I see the 2.3.3 Windows installer is still not available. How does one go about compiling the 'All Platform' tar.gz? |

You could try to get the icecast.nsis, Makefile.am from the KH tree to build it. I just use mingw myself so if you intend to use VS then you'll need a project building. Essentially a library is made from the src files and then linked to the c++ code in the win32 directory. I try to package up the iceast.exe as static but I do still ship some DLLs.

I think dm8tbr is the one to speak to on that, I think he was doing the win32 release on trunk.

OK looks promising.
"Leave the window open to keep Icecast running"
This isn't much reassurance though. Can it run as a service? |

Currently, no. Right now it's like any other general purpose program - if it's running, there is a window (that you can minimize).
I've asked the guy who knows his way around mingw32 to look into it. He thinks it might not be too hard to add service capability. If he gets around to it in time we will ship it for 2.4.0. |

Not trying to be inflammatory, but knowing already how long Win 32 (2.3.3) has taken to (not) materialise, can I ask... Is Icecast dropping its support for Windows?
This is an important question. As many of us rely on Windows implementations of Icecast and may have to reluctantly look into alternatives (shoutcast). |
