I have a 2.3.2-kh30 production server that has been running flawlessly for over a year. Within the last week it has crashed three times.
Each time the error is identical:
EROR thread/rwlock unlock error triggered at avl.c:1176 (1)
Because of the traffic on this server, I haven't yet upped the log level to Debug.
Each time, it appears there may have been either excessive network latency, or a brief network drop shortly before the crash occurs. However, the same network conditions have occured in the past without causing a crash.
At this point I'm simply looking to narrow down my troubleshooting path. |

After additional review I have found that the error seems to occur when all sources disconnect simultaneously. Stability goes downhill from there.
Following a crash, if Icecast is restarted the error will appear again in a shorter amount of time. Restart again and the time until a crash is even shorter. A complete reboot of the OS (FreeBSD) seems to reset everything.
The Icecast error is always identical:
EROR thread/rwlock unlock error triggered at avl.c:1176 (1)
What concerns me most is that this install had been rock solid for more than a year and nothing has been changed in the server or Icecast configuration. The number of listeners has increased, but does not exceed the capabilites of the server.
Has anyone else seen this error/condition? |
