Icecast Streaming Media Server

It seems that clients do not have to enter authentication credentials each time they connect to the Icecast stream. Clients using Winamp, for example, can access the Icecast stream in subsequent visits without having to reenter username and password.

Is this a common occurrence, or is there some configuration change I need to make? I want to force each client to always have to be prompted to supply username and password. If not, it appears that clients who use a shared computer will be able to access the Icecast stream using a previous user's credentials rather than having to access under their own.

I'm not sure there is a way to force the player to ask for a username and password again. It should drop those details when the player/browser quits.

I see the problem now. It is the clients who are using Winamp that do not get prompted to enter username and password if they are connecting back to the last stream they listened to. Winamp is storing the username and password in a plain text file of the last stream the client connected to.

That simply does not make sense since the next user could log on and read the plain text file and get the username and password.
