hi!
i`m sorry if there are several threads which has these questions answered before... i`m a complete n00b, and need help with configurating icecast.
i`m going to use icecast for hosting my own radio. i`m gonna use my dj equipment, and link it up to my pc, using the line in on my soundcard.
the oddcast program is for catching that signal and send the signal to icecast, right?
how do i configurate icecast to recive that signal? too bad all the configurating is in .xml Confused it would have been easier with a more user friendly configuration...

i believe i haven`t configurated icecast correct either... it would have been nice with a more n00b friendly guide, than the one which already is in the program...
maybe someone have a step by step guide, which shows the codes and everything, and what u`re supposed to put in?

i`m behind to routers, so there is plenty of NAT to get passed... hope this is not a problem Razz

thnx...

url seems to work here, so your server is running and is accessible. For oddcast you need server, port, mountpoint and password. The first two your already have, the last two need to be provided.

the mountpoint and password is under the mount section, right? is it the .ogg file which needs to be changed? can u just give me the code, so it works with oddcast, or can i find it myself, somewhere? Razz Wink

just wondering how i can know what info i should put in the mount section... do i have to set something up with oddcast first? do i need an extra plugin or something? or is it just to fill in the correct info in the mount section?

Is it only the mount thing which is missing, to link the progs together? or do i need a plug-in or something else to get it set up?
Do I need to set something up in Oddcast, or is it just Icecast?

Another thing is that I have 2 IP's... one is visable from the outside, and one is inside a router...
Do you only need the outside IP, or do I have to set up the inside IP in Icecast?

A mount section is for mount specific settings, where a <password> could be one of those settings, if it is not present then the global <source-password> is used to match against. oddcast needs to be given the ip/port/mountpoint/password details so that a connection can be established
