am in ssh logged in and everything how do i get the configuration file?

You start icecast by providing the filename as an argument (including the path) so you should already know what it is. If you don't have the xml file then we supply some sample files in the conf/ subdirectory but if you've installed from a distribution then you'll have to list the contents of the package to see what is provided.

An example would be icecast -c /etc/icecast.xml so your configuration file would be /etc/icecast.xml. The xml file doesn't have to be there, it can be anywhere just as long as icecast can read it.
