Have just successfully installed icecast2 server. Fantastic.

As I am new to this, I have not come across the following so pardon the noob question.

How does one secure the Icecast2 admin access beyond what is in the .xml config file? Since both the client stream, the broadcast stream, and the admin access all run on the same port, I can't secure the admin or for that matter, the incoming client stream via some standard protocols like ssh, ssh, some simple ACL lists in my firewall, and so on.

Anyone have any advice, pointers, on how to further secure icecast?

tx

The ability declare a port as ssl capable is a feature that was merged into trunk. While it can apply to any client connecting, its purpose is mainly for admin access.
