i know you prob hate this question but i fresh to all of this stuff and would like to get it goin. i tried reading the help tab on the program but got confused. is there anything or anyone that can walk me through this? i would greatly appreciate it.

Do a search on the google for an icecast howto or read the shipped html docs and samples. You need to get an idea of what you want to achieve first before anyone can walk you through it.
