im looking for a way to setup more than one name/password for
source users. is it possible to do this ?

you have to edit your configure file named icecast.xml it is in [yourinstallpath]/conf/icecast.xml there you have to create a mountpoint for your source users which they have to put in their source client.

like this you can have multiple sources with different passwords, as far as i know it is not possible like it is for listeners to create a (kind of) database with more then one user for only one mountpoint.

more then one mountpoint is possible but only one source password for each. so you have to solve this with your web-application (website).

here is a example for a mount point in the configfile:

<mount>
<mount-name>/yourmountpoint</mount-name>

<username>source</username>
<password>yourpassword</password>
</mount>

The icecast configuration file is an xml file, the xslt files are for a different purpose. The rest is correct, you can have multiple mountpoints each with a single user/password. I suspect the next major update will have auth for sources working via the authenticator but that is not implemented yet.

no, it depends on what features get worked on (whether requested or not) and stabilised, and of course the time for development and testing.
