Icecast Streaming Media Server

Not to sure how to set this up with vlc any easy tips on how or whats the best media player to stream through icecast?

There's little setup required for a player (vlc or otherwise), just specify the url and off you go.

hey karl thanks for the reply..this is my dilemma..im on a hotel network as i live in the hotel complex and its telling me my laptop is private and the router needs to be adjusted so i can stream to the internet

many listeners are in private LANs, that won't stop streaming unless you mean you need to use a proxy.
