Hi,
sorry if my question is noobie , can I use icecast to broadcast the exact output of my speakers ? I want the output of my speakers with one of my friends.

icecast will send whatever the source client gives it. If the source client captures audio being played on your soundcard then fine.

icecast is not responsible for content creation, in most cases it's not even located where the stream is created. The term I used was source client, I suggest you start looking for that.

isnt oddsock.org affiliated with icecast?? i always assumed
anyways the have free streaming tools; check out edcast |

oddsock has been involved in the development of icecast so yes there is a close association. That is why you find vorbis and icecast support in oddcast/edcast.
