Hi,
I've been looking through the documentation and have found queue-size and notice that it's a setting for the listener clients.
I would like this type of setting but for the source, instead of the client.
The reason I'd like to be able to do this is I'd like the live streaming to cope for when the source lags behind. There seems to be a lot of DJs who get disconnected and I think that the upload bandwidth for cable modems is suffering from BBC iPlayer at internet prime time (weekday evenings).
So, if there are occasions when the upload bandwidth does down for just a few seconds, I'd like icecast to be able to cope and I think that a queue-size for the source would be a good way of coping with this problem.
I appreciate there is nothing that can be done if the upload bandwidth drops and stays too low for a long period of time. I'm just after a way for if the upload bandwidth drops for a small amount of time.
Is there such a thing as queue-size for the source or is there any other way to cope with this at all?
If anyone has any ideas about this, please could you let me know.

If the source clients are being dropped then check the error log for the reason why. Icecast will only drop the source client if the source timeout is reached without any data received at all (typically 10 secs). If there is some small lag in the source to icecast link then it won't be an issue but if the IP changes or the link goes out then that would cause a timeout.

Hi Karl,
Thank you for getting back to me, I've suggested we change the source timeout from 10 seconds to 30 seconds to the other members of our radio station. I'm sure they'll agree that this is s good thing to try.
