Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hello there,

is there a way to downsampling an Stream from 128 kbit/s to 64 kbit/s with Icecast (or another tool)? Iam using Ubuntu.

I have one MP3-encoder (hardware) wich streams an mp3 stream (128 kbit/s) to two Icecastservers. The one Icecast should have 128 kbit/s and the other should have 64 kbit/s for put the Stream.

Have anyone an idea how to solve this problem?

Downsampling and reencoding

Orignal stream 128 to icecast2 /moutpoint128

streamtranscoder grab /moutponts128 and reencoding to 64mp3 and send to /moutpoint64

Dont forget config icecast2 to next moutpoint

Ok, the StreamTranscoder works.

Now i configured an downsampled Stream which is send from the StreamTranscoder.

The Source is a 128 kbit/s Stream, he works fine.

(Icecast2 128 kbit/s -> StreamTranscoder -> Icecast2 64kbit/s)

But I can't connect with my Winamp to the downsampled Stream (Mountpoint) - He is still listed in the admin-webinterface from Icecast when i start the StreamTranscoder an Icecast receive data too (total_bytes_read 3918280) but Icecast did not send this data (total_bytes_sent 0)

Have anyone an idea?

Ok, i don't know the Problem exactly, but it is somewhere my huge Mountpointconfig - if i change the Name from my Downsampled Mountpoint - it works fine
