Hi,

i was wondering how to get listed on the Icecast Streams Directory. I have found this: http://www.icecast.org/spec.php is it the actual way to go about?

Mind you, I am not using Icecast. I need to do it by myself first hand

thanks ever so much

yes, follow that and you should be ok, if there is any issue with the spec then raise a query about it. Any failures should be reported back to you.

I would like to know if sn is the actual name of the Radio and if "audio/mpeg" is ok as a type field (I'm streaming Mp3)
Code:

action=add
sn=My+Web+Radio
listenurl=http...:8000
genre=Rock
b=56
type=audio/mpeg

As for Listing Server Response's TouchFreq: 60

what if touch the Listing Server beforehand or later? will I be removed from the list at once? what is the actual TouchFreq right now on the Icecast Streams Directory?

thanks ever so much

One more question, since I'm not getting any body back from the listing server...is it ok if I do a http HEAD request instead of a GET one?

Are the .m3u and .xspf files created on the fly by the Listing Server?

thanks

I tried to remove my stream from the YP. I got this response message from the server:

Code:

HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Cache-Control: max-age=2592000
Connection: close
Date: Sat, 25 Oct 2008 08:13:31 GMT
Server: Apache/2.2.4 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.3-1ubuntu6.3
Vary: Accept-Encoding
Content-Length: 0
Content-Type: text/html
Expires: Mon, 24 Nov 2008 08:13:31 GMT
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.3-1ubuntu6.3
YPMessage: Deleted server info.
YPResponse: 1

Yey, my stream still shows in the YP...what am I doing wrong?

You may be seeing a cached page, I've already pointed balbinus to this thread but you can talk to him directly.
