Finally backtracked. Here's the bug report regarding this issue:

The latest kernel with the issue is 2.6.16 and I'm using 2.6.16, but apparently they could not reproduce the bug to fix it, which tells me that it's possible nobody's using this sound card on Linux or that it's something weird that could change with an unobvious setting.

So any ideas from anyone on how to get arecord to work on here so I can get Ices to work?
