Hi Karl!

Yesterday i found an article that described how to install icecast under openwrt:
http://users.757.org/~joat/wiki/index.php/Icecast_on_the_NSLU2

I wondered why its not working for me because i did exactly the same. But then i saw that i had newer versions installed of some packages. That was because my /etc/opkg.conf had the latest snapshot builds as install source:
Code:
src snapshots http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/brcm-2.4/packages

so i removed all installed packages and changed my opkg.conf to
Code:
src openwrt http://downloads.openwrt.org/kamikaze/packages/mipsel

Then i reinstalled icecast an now i "ldd icecast" lists the following:
Code:

        libcurl.so.3 => /usr/lib/libcurl.so.3 (0x2aaee000)
        libssl.so.0.9.8 => /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8 (0x2ab59000)
        libcrypto.so.0.9.8 => /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 (0x2abd0000)
        libdl.so.0 => /lib/libdl.so.0 (0x2ad12000)
        libvorbisidec.so.1 => /usr/lib/libvorbisidec.so.1 (0x2ad55000)
        libxslt.so.1 => /usr/lib/libxslt.so.1 (0x2adb3000)
        libxml2.so.2 => /usr/lib/libxml2.so.2 (0x2ae21000)
        libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0x2af65000)
        libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x2afb6000)
        libm.so.0 => /lib/libm.so.0 (0x2b00b000)
        libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x2b059000)
        libc.so.0 => /lib/libc.so.0 (0x2b0a8000)
        ld-uClibc.so.0 => /lib/ld-uClibc.so.0 (0x2aaa8000)

The main differences after the reinstall were
.) Icecast 2.3.0 (instead of 2.3.2)
.) libxml2 - 2.6.20-1 (instead of 2.7.2)
.) libxslt - 1.1.14-1

Now the server is running! Laughing Thanks for the your Help Karl and sorry for the troubles.

But now the following problem occured when trying to use the server:

I am streaming with Winamp Shoutcast DSP Plugin to the server on Port 8000. In the config file i have
Code:

    <shoutcast-mount>/live.nsv</shoutcast-mount>
    <hostname>80.108.221.175</hostname>
    <listen-socket>
        <port>8000</port>
    </listen-socket>
    <listen-socket>
        <port>8001</port>
        <shoutcast-compat>1</shoutcast-compat>
    </listen-socket>

the streaming to the server works fine. but when i try to connect with winamp to http://80.108.221.175:8000/live.nsv then Winamp waits to fill the buffer but it remains at [Buffer: 0%]! That problem doesn't occur when opening the stream with Windows Media Player.
Do you have a clue what my problem is?

I've not heard of any issues with winamp and nsv, unless you have a winamp that doesn't handle nsv.

I thought there maybe some issue with the build on the platform but I've not aware of any changes to icecast for it, the interesting thing is the libvorbisidec package

I tried it with VLC, wmp and totem and all worked with the /live.nsv mountpoint except winamp. So i already changed it to /live.mp3 and now it works.

well there is a significant difference between an nsv stream and an mp3 stream, one has video in it. If you were sending mp3 to a mountpoint that ended with nsv then yes I can see why winamp would have problems, because it never saw any nsv data, whereas the others probably use the content to determine the codec.
