i am a newbie to this entire business of streaming servers.
I have setup icecast2 and winamp with oddcastv3.
i got the server running but winamp stutters alot. when i close icecast server winamp plays ok. now that 's one problem..
I have port 8000 forwarded on my router, but i cannot access http://www.my.domain.com:8000/status.xsl from outside the network, however when i tried the same address http://www.my.domain.com:8000/status.xsl from inside the network i am able to open up the page. i cannot even use winamp from outside to connect to my stream.
can someone please hellllp me? |

For the first problem, you need to check the specifics for the stream, usually stuttering is caused by bandwidth or possibly CPU starvation. Without more information it's hard to say.
For the second problem, then I'd suggest looking at the forwarding again. If the connection is working over the LAN then a firewall on the machine itself won't be the problem, so it must not be forwarding the requests. A simple packet sniffer will verify that.
