Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hi,

I wanna to setup icecast on my VPS. But i can't. i install but now i don't know how can i run or config. Anybody can help me? I am new on VPS thats way i didn't know correct command. Anybody can write it step by step for me. Plz. Plz.

A VPS is a Virtual Private Server - which operating system is running on your VPS?

We need much more information to be able to help you.

Please be smart and provide real info abouit your problem, operatin system, icecast version and source client version if you want precise answers.

Sorry for my less information. My OS is Cent OS 5. I have 512MB RAM. I wanna to install shoutcast latest version. If i command this its show me ...

-bash-3.2# rpm -ivh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/icecast-2.3.1-0.i386.rpm
error: open of /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/icecast-2.3.1-0.i386.rpm failed: No such file or directory

Please help me.

As centos does not provide a good icecast build, grab latest icecast build from a Fedora repo, such as:
ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/fedora.redhat.com/fedora/linux/releases/9/Everything/i386/os/Packages/icecast-2.3.1-5.fc9.i386.rpm

Then using a console as root:
yum localinstall icecast-2.3.1-5.fc9.i386.rpm

should give you a good install.
You then get icecast.xml in /etc.
Make at least changes for passwords.

The thing tells clearly what's missing. Decent & recent libcurl.
Get it from the same repo as icecast.
Or, if you're at ease with rpmbuild, pick icecast source rpm and build your own for centos.

Usually, my icecast serves are built with fedora 10 now. As this has all the stuff needed, it's pretty easy to have a running station in minutes Smile

centos being built like RHEL or Fedora, you can pick Fedora packages when some miss, like libcurl..

Install those, will resolve curl problems:

Full curl package:

and curl libraries
ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/fedora.redhat.com/fedora/linux/releases/9/Everything/i386/os/Packages/libcurl-7.18.1-1.fc9.i386.rpm

Sounds you made some nice mixture between 32 and 64 bit linux packages..

well, you'll need making some cleanup before having something very stable.
