Is there any way to access the directory content (http://dir.xiph.org/) from an app? Maybe there's a REST API?

I looked through the docs, the forum and Google, but found nothing. Shocked

Things I would like to do:
* Query by genre (and format)
* Find Most popular streams
* Info about what a stream is currently playing

Is it possible?

Are there any other radio / stream directories which support queries like that?
