Im trying to install from source and I get the "configure: error: XSLT configuration could not be found"

So I go to install XSLT, and I need to start with libxml2-2.6.22-1.1.i386.rpm, and I get depend. error:
error: Failed dependencies:
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4) is needed by libxml2-2.6.22-1.1.i386
So I try anf install GLIBC:
error: Failed dependencies:
glibc-common = 2.3.90-18 is needed by glibc-2.3.90-18.i386
glibc > 2.3.5 conflicts with glibc-common-2.3.5-10.3.i386
So its telling me it needs somethign and its conflicting?!?! What do I do? I am new to Linux. Thanks in advance,
John

you probably already have a libxslt installed "rpm -q libxslt", just no development package for, install the libxslt-dev package from a fedora core mirror/CD.

I can see it on a mirror...

http://www.mirror.ac.uk/mirror/fedora.redhat.com/4/i386/os/Fedora/RPMS/libxslt-devel-1.1.14-2.i386.rpm

Thanks that worked. Now im having another issue, Icecast starts fine, I have it set to port 8002, I have that set in the ices.conf file as well but when i try and start ices like:
ices /usr/local/etc/ices.conf.dist

I get Error during send: Mount failed on http://127.0.0.1:8000/ices
I dont know where that 8000 is coming from, it is not what is listed in the icecast and ices conf files, in fact its not listed anywhere in those file (8000). Thanks for guidance so far.

The documentation and the usage (eg ices -h) explain quite clearly how to invoke ices. You have not given the right flags which in this case is -c

low resources? Low disk space or CPU/memory?

If it's low memory, a precompiled binary won't save you anything.
