Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hi there,im making a audio stream project on Debian for school and i got like 2 weeks left,i was following a tutorial and i came in a part where i got stuck.

when i do /usr/sbin/icecast
it says that the directory Sbin does not exist so i tried to start it @ /usr/bin/icecast

when i specify the config file (/usr/bin/icecast -c /etc/icecast/icecast.xml (while i was trying to run icecast.conf it was giving me a fatal error as it was asking for a .xml so i used this one)) it gives me a error because it was grabbing config files from files that didnt existed liek /usr/var.

can someone help me out here? i am using

got shout,icecast,and the config file done both with libraries,the playlist is made so i basicly just need the last 5 topics for this to be running and finish my year.

a fast help would be appreciated

icecast 1 has not been supported for a number of years, there is no point in asking for help with it. If you have specific icecast 2 questions then feel free to ask.

oh sorry i didnt noticed :S..
i downloaded icecast 2.3.2

can you tell me any toturial for linux? i can just find for windows or with icecast 1 :\

between the samples configuration files, the documentation provided with the distribution and the links off the web site, you should find something you want. If you have some specific issue then feel free to ask.

Ok so i now installed darkICE to work with icecast so it can read mp3 Files ( for what i understood) and with the library faac-1.24.zip, i made Unzip faac-1.24.zip got in the folder but i cant make ./configure , ./config, or any like that,tough configure.in file in it

any help?

if you are building from source then you need to run the configure first before running make. It's the same process for most apps

but that is what i am already doing because when i am in the folder and try to make ./configure i cant

but trying to install other libraries now,i use the
./configure
make
make install

and when i am going to see i dont have the libraries installed -.-'

You say you cannot run configure but don't say why. What makes you think it failed? Your posts do not indicate
