Okay, here goes. I am a web programmer but have never messed around with any streaming servers or software so this is entirely new to me.
I am going to use a win xp box for this purpose. What would you all recommend as a minimum for motherboard, processor, memory, and storage. Thanks for any input. |

Hardware-wise, any kit you buy these days is going to easily handle icecast. memory and mult-cpus only really come into play if you have lots of streams or listeners at the same time. The key thing for icecast is network bandwidth to match the expected number of listeners.
