as source tarballs, you do configure; make; make install. samples xml files in conf/ I don't know if anyone is making any debian packages if that is what you are wanting.

My development box is linux but there should not be anything preventing it from building on others but on occasion certain things do get through.

Ok mate,

the issue i have is under high requests (few hundred viewers) the icecast page stops responding, server load is fine, 0.01/0.02/0.01 etc.

shoutcasts load 100% fine, its simply the icecast web page that is slow, however, it will not let people connect for anything from 5-10 attempts, its sooo sloowwwww Sad

how could this be fixed?

have you checked the error log? could be a client limit or file descriptor limit being reached. In such cases a delay is triggered so that the DoS is limited to new listener connections.

Those web links look to be from the 2.3.2/trunk page, so it looks like you are mixing up your icecast web pages.

I have an updated tarball to try out, some minor tweaking going on for certain cases, but no changes to the read bytes issue you reported as little information is given, could be a DoS attack for all we know.

sure, but that won't tell me about the web page with the broken links. You issued a request with a browser and that mapped to a page in webroot, that web page had the broken links. The xml config would only tell me about the aliases or possibly some unrelated stream options that _may_ be silly.

hi karl,

what would i need to look at to sort the errors?

None of our customers can connect as the web page will timout and not launch.

How would i install your version on winamp? ive run:

wget install http://www.icecast.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/icecast-2.3.2-kh13pre.tar.gz

not sure where the .xml goes?

Thanks

Without knowing what you are setting it's hard to say. The tarball contains the web pages with the correct links, so as long as your xml points to the correct webroot then you'll be ok.

a page timeout is a different problem to not finding the page, a timeout indicates that the server port is not accessible, eg firewall.

As for winamp, I'm not sure what you are getting at, the icecast server and a client like winamp are separate. Are you thinking this is a plugin to winamp?
