I want to stream a local AM signal from my house to my work where I can't pick it up. I was going to use the Griffin Radio Shark for in the input, just curious how I could get it from their, up to the net and streaming...
Anyone have a similar setup or any thoughts?

You will need a dedicated machine at home, and output from a radio to the line-in on your sound card.
I would recommend using IceS 2.x for a source client. It will capture from live input and create an ogg stream, which is very suited for encoding AM. Set the stream to mono at quality level 0 (nominal bitrate of 64kbps) or -1 (45kbps).
Connect this to icecast running on the same machine.
You can then connect with your listener client (winamp etc) from work to the icecast server at home. |
