as with most source tarballs, unpack (tar xzf .....tar.gz), go into the directory created and then run ./configure followed by make and then make install. configure can take --help for extra information.

long night yesterday ..
tried to install trunk but didnt work, needed following packages libogg, libvorbis, libxml2, libxslt, curl
after installing them, i coult install trunk
now, where do i find icecast2? there is no directory like before in etc/icecast2/
there is one in usr/local/.. or so
but i cant stream anymore |

Those pre-requisites are docimented, so that is not a surprise.
The default prefix is /usr/local, so try /usr/local/bin, /usr/local/share and so on
