What bandwidth is needed to serve i.e. eight stereo streams of very good quality? Will a 100Mbit NIC do?

The term 'good quality' is subjective, so if we take an example, eg 128kbits/s (as shown in the latest HA tests http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=40607)

then 8 * 128 is 1024 or 1Mbit/s, so a 100Mbit/s link is going to be plenty for the situation.
