Hi there,
We are trying to convert from Shoutcast to Icecast and as a newbie to this streaming solution, I am not sure how to install it. I was trying to follow the steps from that README file, and after I executed the ./configure file. The system told me that configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
Is that because I haven't installed GCC as the compiler ? Or some other reasons? Is there any where that I can find the detailed installation tutorials to get started?
Thanks a lot!

if you build icecast from source then you will need a development environment, eg C compilers, libxml2 libxslt etc. but as a newbie you should find it easier to install a pre built package from the distribution typically named icecast2
