I'm running 2003 and for some reason Icecast server stops running. I checked the log file and it shows below that it stopped running at 1520. I went back in today and restarted the icecast program. It was no longer running nor showing onthe systray when I logged into the server. I double clicked the icecast program and it was back up and running.

Anyone know how to stop the program from stopping?

sounds like a crash, there isn't much to go on in your post but the logging does indicate a crash. Can you report it as a bug (trac.xiph.org), attach the xml config along with information about the streams running and the tail end of the error log.

OK, I'm also seeing the server stop on 2k3. It is only on my relay server and not my distribution machines (there are 9 of those). Here is some of the info from Event Viewer:

#1)

Faulting application Icecast2.exe, version 1.0.0.1, faulting module Icecast2.exe, version 1.0.0.1, fault address 0x00036705.

#2)

The application, C:\Program Files\Icecast2 Win32\Icecast2.exe generated an application error. The error occurred on 02/15/2006 @ 05:05:40.736. The exception generated was c0000005 at address 00436705 (Icecast2)

I also have a DrWatson log and a user.dmp of the crash if you would like to see those. Just let me know where to send them.

Thanks!

I have the same issue here. Does anyone know a simple way of making the server reconnect itself if it crashes eventually? I wanna find a way of some instance to check for the connection every X minutes and if it`s down it reconnects automaticaly. I don`t wanna go in the trouble of having a script been done for that purpose. Is there any other (and simpler) way of solving this problem? Thanks a lot.

I have found one bug that can lead to a crash on 2.3.1 so I'll add that to the queue of fixes for 2.3.2. Unfortunately I don't have access to a usable win32 build setup to get snapshots out, so you'll have to wait until oddsock get some free time.
