I've installed all the latest stable versions of xslt, xml2, and the dev files.

I was able to ./configure after doing this, but I get this error when trying to issue the 'make' command.

Quote:
/usr/lib/libxslt.so: undefined reference to `__stack_chk_fail@GLIBC_2.4'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [icecast] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/youeithe/temp/icecast-2.3.1/src'
make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/youeithe/temp/icecast-2.3.1/src'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/youeithe/temp/icecast-2.3.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2

Can anyone help? Sad

you have a dependency problem, the installed libxslt is requiring something from glibc 2.4 and I guess you have an earlier version. It's not an icecast requirement.

I'm aware I have a dependency problem, but what I need is help making icecast work.

How do I get icecast to install if I can't use the 'make' or 'make install' options as outlined in the documentation then?

you need to replace your libxslt to something that is compatible with your glibc. I'm not aware of your distro but it may involve picking an older version of libxslt if you installing pre-compiled versions.
