Icecast Streaming Media Server

I have been tasking myself with this issue for about a month now.

At work, alot of my buddies in cubicles would prefer to listen to my music, and they learned that I am streaming it from my home computer.

However, since the external IP of our office is exactly the same on each computer (obviously, its a LAN), icecast only allows one connection.

Is there any way for me to change this?

Icecast does not prevent listeners based on IP, it may do (if configured to do so) to limit authenticated listeners. I would think that in your situation, running an icecast at work configured as an on-demand relay of your home machine would be better on bandwidth usage.

I suppose I could have been descriptive.

Ok, the situation that I have created is absolutely the only way I can do it based on company issues and my own issues only allow me to stream it from my residence to my personal dedicated server/webserver and then connect to it from work.

From multiple different IPs i have connected fine on the same authentication, however from the local area network at work where the IP is the same, it does not work.

So, in my logic I assumed it was restricting by IP... unless its restricting by some other method.

The system(s) we have as our "tech bench" systems do not allow ample resources to create any sort of localized server, and the ability to open that port so that from home I could stream into my computer at work as a -server- is constituded as that sort of look your boss gives you when he wants you to be sure you know you just wasted his time.

So yea...

My question can be changed I guess..

You can limit listeners in various ways, max-listeners, clients, bandwidth, listener authentication. Which of these is preventing multiple listener access I can't say as I don't have access to your icecast. Log files can be informative, if read, unless you know what the server limits are.
