Hi!

I've got an (Windows) Icecast instance with 7 mountpoints on it. 3 in MP3 and 4 in AAC+.

When I start playing the stream in Winamp, everything is allright. But after 18 minutes or so, it starts buffering. You don't hear it, but you see it on the Winamp display. It doesn't stop buffering after it starts. I've tried different source clients, but the problem is with all clients.

Here is my config file:

Code:

<icecast>
    <limits>
        <clients>999</clients>
        <sources>10</sources>
        <threadpool>7</threadpool>
    </limits>
    <authentication>
        <source-password>**********</source-password>
        <relay-password>**********</relay-password>
        <admin-user>admin</admin-user>
        <admin-password>**********</admin-password>
    </authentication>
    <directory>
        <yp-url-timeout>15</yp-url-timeout>
        <yp-url>http://dir.xiph.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi</yp-url>
    </directory>
    <hostname>icecast.netmastering.nl</hostname>
    <listen-socket>
        <port>80</port>
        <bind-address>213.247.58.22</bind-address>
    </listen-socket>
    <fileserve>1</fileserve>
    <paths>
        <basedir>./</basedir>
        <logdir>F:/UserFolders/Icecast/1/Logs</logdir>
        <webroot>F:/UserFolders/Icecast/1/OnDemand</webroot>
        <adminroot>F:/UserFolders/Icecast/admin</adminroot>
      <alias source="/" dest="/index.xsl"/>
    </paths>
    <logging>
        <accesslog>access.log</accesslog>
        <errorlog>error.log</errorlog>
        <playlistlog>playlist.log</playlistlog>
         <loglevel>2</loglevel>
      <logsize>50</logsize>
      <logarchive>1</logarchive>
    </logging>
</icecast>

You can try the stream here:

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

looking at the download rate, it seems that the transfer rate after the connection burst is slightly less than 128kbps, so it may take 18mins or so to drain the players buffer. The usualy cause of such things is some incorrect timing in the source client, eg a 48000 vs 44100 samplerate. Without more info on that it's hard to say.

I've used Simplecast and now we're using Oddcast with the following settings:

Bitrate: 128
Samplerate: 44100
Channels: 2
Encoder type: MP3 Lame
Server Type: Icecast2
Server IP: icecast.netmastering.nl
Server Port: 80
Mountpoint: /high
