I am trying to relay a webcast from http://webcast.dzogchencommunity.net/ via a lovely little box that I have control of. I am intending this target installtion of icecast to be kind of like a 'private' relay for roughly 10 ppl or so, although this box could easily handle multiple gameservers of 32+ ppl each.

The reason being is that the connection to the broadcasting server, from our locations is frequently unreliable, and shakey at times. Thus, we (the listeners) lose bits and pieces, which can tend to be very important.. as it is a webcast of a "discussion" or "talk".

If you think you can help me set this up by May 5th, 11:30am PST then, please, by all means email me : anti.is.not@comcast.net and I can send you (an edited, for passwords sake) version of my icecast.xml file.

Thank you in advance.

you either want a few <relay> defintions or setup as a slave to the existing master.

This is what I have for the relay section:
Quote:

<relay>
<server>http://62.149.194.13/</server>
<port>8001</port>
<mount>/audio</mount>
<on-demand>0</on-demand>

<relay-shoutcast-metadata>0</relay-shoutcast-metadata>
</relay>

does that look right? because I still dont get any mount points... do I have to have some type of password to be able to setup as a slave? because, like I said, I dont have control/access to that on my intended master server.

If you check your log files you should see what the error is. You are assuming that <server> means a url (ie http://) when it doesn't, it means an IP or DNS name.

you really need to post more information about the problem, we can only guess what you have exactly and what may appear in your error log. For all we know you may of even commented out the appropriate relay sections.
