Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hi,
I work in a online newspaper and my boss asked me if it's possible to broadcast an event (only audio) to our website.

The situation is:

- We need the audio to be broadcasted in our website
- We have our website in a external host
- We have a fast connection at the event building
- We have microphone and a notebook that can have, if necessary, a 3G card (384kb or 1.8MB if necessary)
- Our host server is Windows 2003

Question is, what else do we need?
Will Icecast do the job?
I really need some help, I just have 4 days to prepare the all stuff.

Icecast is the server that your listeners would talk to, most likely referenced off your web pages in the form of m3u or pls links. You would run icecast on a machine with enough bandwidth for your listeners, where exaclty that is located depends on your situation, you may use multiple icecasts at different locations.

Find a source client that you can use to encode from the soundcard on your notebook and feed that encoded stream into icecast.
