lo all.. srry to ask this question, sure uve heard it b4 but. im a total newb to this, got it all workin, trouble is the stream only plays for a second or two then stops, it tries to buffer again but fails, if i press play on winamp it connects again but then stops after 1-2 seconds...any ideas y?
im usin traktor 2.6/icecast 2.2. is it just a bandwith problem or can i set somethin smwhere in either those 2 or winamp.
thnx....kev

not much info to go on, but 2.2 isn't the latest icecast. You've neglected to state the format or bitrate of the stream, what your bandwidth limits are and any significant messages in the error log. If you really do get some playback (if only for a few seconds) then it's unlikely to be codec related. Have you verifyied this behaviour on some other machine?

lo thnx for reply...the problem happens on any bitrate although i get slightly longer playback the lower i go. format is .ogg. bandwith is 45k. as i say all seems find cept for this... im thinkin my bandwith limit is way too low for streaming. and yes ive tested on other machines with same problem...Sad

Maybe you can email/pm/post the stream url for others to try, but from your description so far, it sounds like a bandwidth limit.
