Icecast Streaming Media Server

Hi..
I have been setting up an Icecast server with 3 mounts.
If mount 2 or 3 is offline, it is setup to fallback to mount 1.
If Mount 1 is full, it moves to 2.

now, I have and <intro> tag setup.
What I would like to know, or request, is say an "outtro" tag, or a redirect tag, so that if a user moves from Mount 2 to 1, they know that they are being transferred. If there session is over, I'd like another announcement telling them that they've expired.

I've worked around the "outtro" by creating an m3u file on my server that calls my Icecast link, then moves to the outtro file. But, if Icecast is offline, or the connect fails, they move right to the outtro file....

If this is not possible now, is there a way to code it in the next release??
I know I'd take advantage of it, and possibly others.

Can you clarify what you mean by an expired session?

An 'outro' setting would be hard to deal with by a terminating source as it would have to stay around to do the processing for the listeners. A fallback to a local relay of 1 may be a better approach (configured with intro) but the intro currently only kicks in once. Not something I've looked into much.

currently, i have the feeds setup to expire after 60 minutes...

What you were saying about having another fallback mount would get the job done.. You could use a hidden tag, so it wouldn't show on the icecast server page... but that would still require a fallback mounting flag when the duration is over...

ah, so you mean to trigger a fallback per-listener when the max duration has been reached. Currently the listener connection is dropped. No, icecast doesn't do that, although a move could be done instead of a drop, feel free to add this to trac.xiph.org.

I will add it.. but in order for it to work correctly, the intro file will need to be played each time a new mount is opened.

Right now, the intro file is only played once.
Can Icecast play a file instead of a mountpoint?

An intro will only play once because that is what it's currently configured to do. When a listener is placed onto another mountpoint it could be configured to play an another intro if certain settings are enabled. The change from disconnect listener to possible fallback trigger is more tricky as there are locking issues to consider.
