Icecast Streaming Media Server

ive got my radio running, but when i put my ip on the like like

http://***********:8000/live

its bringin nothin up, now im gettin my ip address from

http://www.whatismyip.com/

so does anyone kow what up, i can get on from my computer ip but because its the computer ip no one else can from another pc where as my local ip no one can get on there either,

anyone help me??

"bringing nothing up" is not that helpful, if you mean that you get a connection timeout then start from the basics. Check that you can access the /status.xsl page, if that times out then it's probably a firewall/routing issue, the other possibility is that you are using bind-address in icecast xml when you should not.

You sound like you have a NAT setup so you need to port forward 8000 to the internal IP address the has icecast on it. The documentation for your router should help in setting up the port forwarding.

icecast only uses TCP so the UDP entry is not needed, also the server IP address is wrong, 127.0.0.1 would be the router not the internal icecast IP (which I guess is something in the 192.168.x.x range).

ok sorted that out you just said, but still no one can connect (from my internet ip) but me(from the pc ip)??

some one mentioned to me because im on aol its probably that do you think it is??

don't use bind-address unless you have a specific need for it, and from the sound of it you do not. By default it will listen on all interfaces.

If you can connect to icecast from within the LAN from a different machine then that removes any firewall issue and icecast is ready.

in xml  mark the start and end of a comment, anything inbetween will be ignored. The key point is getting your firewall to forward the packets correctly, your network admin should be able to check that.
