I can have set up two pc, on my LAN, to test streaming via Winamp...

It works. but unforunatly, I cannot stream m3u(Playlist) that I have created in Winamp. The playlist plays directly from the file, but when its stremed though Icecast, no songs play.

Am I sposed to set up mounting or something ?

It's not clear on what you are asking. Is winamp acting as a source client? Does a stream appear on the status page? An m3u is automatically created based on the streams present but you can provide your own in webroot.

Icecast is set up as the souce. and winamp is on the client machine.
The <webroot> has the directory of files to share.

In the Open URL field of Winamp, if I specify a particular an .mp3 files then all is ok.

But the problem is finding the playlist file winamp creates from your songs.

I have tried the following:
Placing playlist in <webroot> (eg. folder and parth\example.m3u
Adding the above to the client on openiing
(eg. http://yourserver:port/example.m3u

Neither have worked. as winamp cycles though the song(s) in the playlist, but refuses to play.

makes me think it might be something i'm missing in cofig, as playing the playlist directly on the machine (double-clicking playlist file) works ok.

All i altered was the basic stuff to that was required.

icecast is not a source client, it's a server. Apps like ices, oddcast etc are examples of source clients, they provide the live streams to icecast. If you want to stream mp3 files then (assuming you are licenced) get something like ices 0.4 or oddcast, and feed the mp3 files into the source client.
