I have a server up and running (http://marge.resnet.mtu.edu:8001/wmtufm.m3u) using darkice and icecast. The stream works, except there's no sound, so I'm thinking it's a problem with the audio input. I can hear the input I want to use through the headphones, but it can't be heard in the stream.

I have /dev/dsp selected as the audio input for darkice. The input is a s/pdif input and alsamix says the input is called IE958 LifeDrive. If I can here the audio through the headphone out jack, shouldn't point to /dev/dsp work? I've tried all the defaults in the darksnow gui and /dev/dsp is the only one it lets me do

Any suggestions on what I might point it to are appreciated.

you need to configure your mixer, so that it knows what to capture. By default it's just the Mic typically. The actual setting you need can vary depending on the card/driver/mixer. It could be Mix, capture, wave, volume etc

I thought I did this. So darkice should point to dsp, though?
