Is there a way for the icecast server to rencode streams to a set bitrate so I can have 1 source that broadcasts at 128K and then have the server split that into two mounts, the 128k stream(no reencode) and then have a 32kbps stream for dial up people(reencoded)?
It seems like this would be very useful to do it this way and let the server handle the load instead of depending on your broadcasters to have enough bandwidth to simoultaneously broadcast both source streams.... |

icecast doesn't do any encoding, but you can use a seperate application like streamtranscoder to do what you want.
