Hello,

I want to make Ices2 not to send MP3 metadata (data from the ID3 tag) to the Icecast server when streamed. I mean, I do not want my users to see which song is currently being played, I want them to only see the name of the radio station and nothing more.

Please help.
Thanks!

ices2 doesn't read any mp3 metadata, it only reads Ogg vorbis files or live input. If there is some path from ID3 tags then something else must be notifying ices2.

Okay, excuse me, it was my fault, you are right that I am dealing with ogg files only. Ices2 is just finding out the name of the song - whether by it's filename, whether by some other means, I do not know and care. Wink I just want that it is not sent to Icecast2 server, so I do not give the song name to users listening to my station. They should only see something like "XXXXX Radio Station" in their players, but not the song titles taken somehow from the OGGs.

Is there a way to do it?

The ogg files have the metadata in (use ogginfo to see them) but ices doesn't allow overriding them via the playilist. You could go via the dsp and get ices to read the comments from the metadata file (which would never change). Whether that is suitable for your setup I don't know.
