|
|
Hi there !
I installed icecast - Version 1.3.12 onto my Debian Server. (due apt stable)
I read the manuals and downloaded the Winamp DSP shoutcast SOURCE
client.
I created the user.aut and every other file needed.
I also copied the example icecast.conf and renamed it, so it could be used
by defaul.
If i switch on the full debuggin on starting of an instance, i even see that every of this
configs has been loaded successfully.
i created a user in the user.aut named thing:*****
i started the server with the parms -p ***** and -b but i cant connect
to the server as source due my winamp DSP plugin.
http://is-the-best.hopto.org/WEB/files/sc_client_wa.jpg
Its not that the server could not even be found or that he is not responding, its that he does not authorizes me.
Its a pitty that the Winamp DSP plugin prints out the msgs too fast,
so i can't tell you the exactly error report of the DSP plugin.
But im sure he trys to connect to the icecast server, finds it sends a request, but dies by getting an authorization error back from the ice
cast server.
I specified the following things:
-> in starting an instance of the server i used -p *****
-> in icecast.conf encoder_password ***** admin_password ***** oper_password
-> in user.aut i created a user thing:*****
since here i used the same password for every ***** i wrote
i ignored every other file like mount.aut or group.aut, i think thats not important for getting an authorization, i hope im right.
so now i want to ask you.
what could be the problem with my icecast server ?
why dont he authorizes me when i want to connect as source ?
thanks ahead.
with friendly regards |

you need to be clear on the problem, all source clients that run with icecast2 (and shoutcast for that matter) have a port and password.

sorry for the double post, but for all those of you, who have the same problem:
i solved it ...
i was using the shoutcast DSP plugin for winamp trying to connect to an icecast server, and that made all this trouble.
just use icecast-server and oddcast as source client or use the good old shoucast server with the winamp dsp plugin ...
it can be that way easy
thx to everybody of you who tried to help me
with friendly regards. |
