Hi, I am streaming to an icecast2 server with oddcast (OGG Stream). I need to have the talkover function to my stream, like Shoutcast's. To talk over background music. I tried SAM2 but the sound quality isn't good with the same settings with oddcast (SAM needs good conf. to work). Can I use Shoutcast (old version with talkover) to stream to icecast2 (ogg)?
Or If someone knows a program with talkover except SAM...

Thanks!! Very Happy

No shoutcast can deal with ogg, so that would be out. If your sam2 audio quality is poor then you are better off asking them but my initial guess would be the soundcard mixer settings, certain mixer settings when they are too high add distortion.

Thanks for the reply. I guess that is a problem with soundcard mixer settings. What I must do?
I have not changed the SAM2 audio settings but I have changed Windows Sound Card Console settings...(for Oddcast Streaming) and I changed the settings for Mono/Stereo Mixing. Does these settings affects to the SAM2? How can I reset these settings?

Thanks

My soundcard is a poor laptop onboard card: ALi.

and one last question: Which usb card (with mic pro-amp) to buy to have a good voice talk with my music? I use Dynamic MIC and It needs pro-amp.

The settings vary depending on the device, under ALSA you would lower the Capture slider but what that is under windows I don't know.

Sam boardcaster does have bad quality to start with but if you download the encoders for it you get from a range of 64-300kbps which the quality is amazing...

Download these encoders and change it on sam broadcaster for a better quality range. http://www.softwareheadlines.com/modules/mydownloads/100
