Hello...

I am trying to use intro file in my little radio: intro file works very well but after that the stream is silence. However the server says me that I am connected yet but winamp time doesn't go on. Winamp receive the metadata of the stream but not the music.

Some ideas?

Thank You

A couple of starting points:

Are you connecting to the right mountpoint? The default mountpoint, etc. Is your source transmitting to the same mountpoint that the intro file is on, etc.

Do the logs say anything about the connection, or any errors, etc?

Is the source configured correctly? I.e. is it pulling from a file, or the Microphone In line, etc. (Basically, "Is it actually getting audio to play")

Does whatever source you are using say that it's transmitting data? i.e. does the "sent bytes" increase?

If the stream does not disconnect after the 10 sec timeout then some stream data must be received by icecast. If winamp stalls after the intro then maybe it is actually getting data just not what it expects. For instance winamp may expect mp3 and actually gets mp3 from the intro but then gets ogg for the normal stream data.

Now it's working.

Intro file had a bitrate of 128kbps and the stream has a bitrate of 32kbps. So I create an intro file of 32kbps and now it works.

So I there's to remember that intro file is not resampled so it must have the same bitrate of the stream.

Thanks to you all

As a general rule, always make sure the intro has exactly the same settings as the stream. Some players have problems with bitrate changes, others have problems with samplerate/channel differences.
